The difference in gear ratios in tuners?

I was deciding to buy a new set of guitar tuners. I read about these "ratios" like 14:1, 16:1, and 18:1. The ones I'm looking at are Gibson Grover Nickel Keystones (not the vintage ones with the plastic tips, The ones with ALL nickel like a regular Grover.) These I'm looking at are 14:1, and I was told that the ratios are kinda like what make them "slip" less or more. Does that mean the strings will go out of tune with the lowest ratio and they will stay in tune with the highest? What does it mean necessarily?

How is my story so far?

It is definitely interesting but Im not sure at this point what is going on and I am confused about the silver sink reference. I would suggest a few things so far. Abandon the word Alright in the first paragraph. It kind of messes with the flow and rhythm. Also easy with the exclamation points. And also I would not use an exclamation point at the end there. Last thing is I would cut the Pacific time ****, because you are going with a first person and maybe its important later on in the story but if time zones dont change then dont use it because when we see the time we simply see 8:30 we dont say oh its 8:30 pacific time ya? Good luck though I am curious to see where this goes

Classic guitar with steel strings?

I'm almost 13 and I want to start playing guitar. I was looking to get a steel string flat top acoustic, but I can't get one for now due to money issues. So I'm stuck with a classic guitar. My first question is, why does my classic guitar have steel strings? And my second question is can I play modern music on my classic guitar? Like indie rock,, R&B, ect ect? Some songs I would like to play are Who You Are by Jessie J, Rolling In The Deep by Adele and Im Yours by Jason Mraz, so you get the idea of what I mean by "modern". Can those be played on a classic guitar?

Tips on regaining my one rep max please.?

If things go to plan I will be gaining an apprentice to start working out with me.I want to put on a good show but recently haven't been able to bench 300 pounds anymore like i used to 2 months ago.When i reached 300 i could only rep 225 once on the way up, 3 reps after i lifted something heavier.Now I can only bench 275 but i can constantly rep 225 seven times.I know I been obsessively benching so im going to relax my whole body at least until tuesday(5 nights of rest).Other than that what can i do to get back up to lifting heavy again.? Fake Epiphone Les Paul Custom?

I just recently purchased a an Epiphone Les Paul Custom (Black). Here are some details that I saw when cleaning the guitar today. Lets start off by pointing out "2nd" above the serial number. The Serial number is I0400365. The truss rod cover has three screws (one above following by the other two in the bottom) with a vertical "GIBSON" (all capitalized). It has Grover turners. I saw the pickups and had a "Epiphone" stamp/engraved (on both) with some white stickers. Then the bridge piece had a B-2 engraved. I know that the "2nd" means it has blemishes of any sort. Below the serial number it has some stickers one reading "100% Inspected & Set-Up In the USA *E (*the epiphone large E) 20). The second sticker stated "MADE IN KOREA" . Besides that everything looked fine. So now can someone tell me if it resembles a REAL or FAKE Epiphone Les Paul Custom? Many Thanks..

Alone, he walks, drifting through a mysterious land of deep green and immaculate scenes of overgrown wilderness. With every step, he fights off the monstrous mosquitoes and what appears to be horseflies, as overgrown and annoying as the monotonous walking he‘s bound to. Every now and then he conveniently comes across a bush full of fruits. Looking like cherries, except almost watermelons in size, hanging from the strained branches about to break. These delicious and refreshing fruits allow him to replenish his strength long enough so he can continue his seemingly never ending trip. He walks below a break in the canopy of trees, allowing the wall of rain to come down upon him, drenching him from his crude and hurt looking grayish green eyes to his black military issue combat boots. He has little protection from the continuous rain, his torn shirt, showing his perfectly sculpted abdomen to nothing but drenched moss that has overwhelmed the surrounding trees and his dark tan cargo pants that he has cut at the knee to try and control the overbearing heat of the disgustingly, drenched, wasteland. His hair has grown long from his extensive journey, turning into what looks like a willow tree, drooping over his ears and onto his shoulders. He hasn’t showered in days, maybe even weeks, he has lost track of time. The only form of cleanliness he has acquired is from the bitter salt water provided by hateful clouds that seem to be following him on his quest. His legs are throbbing but the anxiety to find his destination will not allow him to stop, not to mention the fear of knowing what is actually within his surroundings. If he stops then he will observe, and if he observes then he will see. Hiding between the curtained windows of vines and overgrowth, weary, almost satanic glowing eyes watch his every move, wondering, wanting, waiting.

Is there something wrong with my pores?

Alright so I have excessive hair growth man. I'm a hairy guy ha. Dude my eye brows grow almost around my eye. Like not really growing in a complete circle around my eye, but it seems like my eyebrows want to connect with my facial hair. Its really hard to notice but when you look closely you can see little hairs coming around my eye. I have really hairy arms and legs. Dude I have hair on my toes man. Also when I shave my stache and beard I always bleed. No matter what. I tried everything to not make myself bleed. Shaving very slow with a razor. I put really warm water on my face before shaving to open up my pores. I use shaving cream thats suppose to prevent bleeding. I tried steaming my face before shaving. Nothing works. Also I sweat excessively. I hate it dude. I live very close to Florida. So its always hot out. As soon as I walk out side my back and arms and forehead are drenched literally. I remember one time I was in gym class we went outside for a while and when we came in and I sat down. After I got up I could see like my butts impression because of the sweat dude and that was when I was 14. I'm 18 now. I have long hair and I straighten it and when I use my straightener I sweat man. I also have really bad acne dude. Well use to. But I went on Accutane, which is the most powerful drug in the world for Acne. My acne was super severe. I'd go on youtube all the time to see other people who had severe acne and NO ONE compared to mine. Its not like just a cyst on my cheeks. My whole face is red. I still get cyst every now and then, and I've been on Accutane twice now. Thats the limit. I had cyst all over my face, neck, shoulders, chest and back. And 2 cyst on my arm. I shower twice a day, wash properly, I have tried every antiperspirant going and I still smell of BO!?

Basically, I sweat quite alot, If I get nervous or general exercise i sweat loads, especially underarms. It gets to the point where its embarrassing. I put on a nice polo shirt and within 30 minutes the arm pits are drenched! I shower twice a day and wash properly but I can still smell the BO on myself which is not nice when I go to work etc.. I have also tried every antiperspirant going and they worked to start off with but now just don't work at all?! If anyone could help me with new advice I would be much grateful! Thank you :)

Excessive sweating in winter/summer caused by the slightest physical movement?

Hello, I am a male 18 years of age. I do not recall having any problems related to the following before the age of 12-13-14. I have sweating from armpits, sometimes back, feet and palms. Does not matter what time of year, I tried walking to school in a t-shirt (10 minute casual relaxed walk) when it was 10 degrees celcius outside, and by the time I got to school every part of my body not covered by clothing was frozen but my armpits were starting to sweat anyway. I can be totally relaxed while siting, although as soon as I start writing with one hand, that particular hand's arm pit becomes sweaty. Once I start sweating a little bit it takes at least 40 minutes for drops of sweat to stop coming out through the pores completely. During summer I wear sandals and shorts, a constant wind either dries off the sweat right away leaving no wetness or odor or keeps me cool enough not to sweat much. I drink at least 5 small waterbottles per day and take drinks of water when ever I can. I have vigorous physical activity (work out, running for 3-4 hours, judo, skiing) at least 4 times a week. During those times I sweat non stop, and I drink a lot of water before excersize. I never eat junk food because it drains my energy and thinks like a pack of chips results in some ache. When my back sweats and I am wearing a backpack or am sitting in class leaning on a chair I get some ache on my back too, in the areas where anything that touches my clothes. I am guessing in those areas my pores get blocked by what ever substances there are (Even though I take a warm/cold shower every morning). I wear clean clothes every single time, mostly because after a day my t-shirt and anything over it is 30% drenched in sweat. I do not mind sweating and I love sweating during physical exersize, but on times when I need to be in class, in a restaurant, on a date, a walk in the park, I am tired of having big wet stains in my arm pits. When I exersize often the smell dissapears but the wet stains are still there. I used to think this is some sort of nervous system malfunction more than anything else - until i did many experiments and saw that in a very relaxed state I can start swearing as long as I make my muscles work. Just sitting in a chair and leaning my head on my arm may trigger arm pit sweating. I can feel drops of sweat drip down the side of my body a few minutes into gently leaning on my arm (which is placed on a table). After a shower in the morning, I can go to a certain point in the day just fine. At that point (can be at any time of the day) if i start sweating a few drops, even if it stops, the chance of sweating exessivly again for any slightest movement such as walking greatly increases. Please doctor, instead of telling me about prescriptions, anti antiperspirants and surgery, can you recommend some ways I can: make sure that my thyroid gland is not malfunctioning, how to improve my nervous system, what supplements (such as zink and vitamin C) should intake to prevent triggering sweating easily, and in what quantities? PS: I came out of the shower before I started writing this message; my arms are resting on my table only my fingers are moving to type, I seem as calm and as relaxed/care free as I ever was, yet in these 5 minutes my armpits are already wet; no drops of sweat are dripping but the whole armpit area is wet enough to leave a clear stain on a paper towel. I have a light skin tone because I never have been able to tan I just burn. My mom drenched me in sunscreen she put me in 30 and another sunscreen that makes it to were u can stay in the sun 8times longer than usual without sunburning. i hate to break it to you but you have a medical condition called hyperhidrosis. its excessive sweating. look it up, if you want. theres no absolute cure but there are a few things from powder to surgery. abotu 1/5 of the population has it (im one of the unlucky ones that has it).

I had a little accident with it awhile ago. Some chocolate accidentally melted in my bag and got on my iPhone. When I found it, the bottom part of my iPhone (with the speakers and the port) was drenched with melted chocolate. I tried my best to clean it out. The port I think is fine. How do I stop my hands from sweating while using a Mouse/Controllers?

It gets really irritating, every 3 minutes I have to wipe my hands off with a towel, they are like drenched. And it's even worse when i'm at a friends house playing Xbox or something, it's embarrassing to pass the control over because it's covered in sweat. It also affects my gaming because it's really annoying to play while your hands are covered that in that much sweat, and it makes my keyboard and mouse really greasy. It's the middle of winter know(Australia) and it still happens, even when my hands are freezing, that's when it's the worst to play games, when my hands are freezing cold and drenched in sweat. Is there some kind of thing I can do to stop this, it's been happening ever since I hit puberty. I'm sick of dealing with it and I want it to stop. Wellbutrin not doing its job?

I started on 150mg per day and as of day 3 Im about to stop taking it. The first day I started feeling odd and the tiniest bit more sociable around people. The second day I felt a little better and could feel more themes out of my life, but around half way into the day I started feeling depressed and nauseous. I got a serious migraine last night and I felt like I could puke at any second until I finally fell asleep. Now day 3 I feel very depressed and I dont want to do anything, not even study for my exam tomorrow. I slowly get a headache every day that gets progressively worse until I fall asleep. I really like a lot of things about wing chun, but my main concern is that its not a good workout. I wanna know if i'm weird or something, but i actually enjoy pouring my milk BEFORE my cereal! people are all like, no you're weird. but i for one like my cereal still crunchy while i eat. so when i pour cereal before milk, id be drenching it with milk making it more soggy. so i pour milk first, then some cereal, but not a lot so it doesnt get soggy. then i pour some more cereal when i finished that bunch. just so everything stays fresh and crunchy! but who knows, some people may eat fast so it doesn't matter. i am leasing a little mare and she sweats like CRAZY! you can take her for a light little hack and she will be drenched in sweat. 5 month old baby teething?

My sons would start teething about that time. However, it may take another six months or longer for them to pop out. Sometimes a little less. Although all started teething around that time the earliest one ever cut was at 11 months. They go through periods from time to time where they are shifting, moving and irritating them. Then they'll go through a period of a few days where they are fine and so forth. If they are being bothered to where they can't sleep through the night I will give them a dosage of tylenol/acetaminophen. None of my children cared at all for the baby oral-gel and teething tablets really didn't seem to do anything. During the day I give them chilled teething toys to help with the irritation if they seem to be having problems.

Guitar pedal help, overdrive?

I'm trying to get a "light overdrive" sound, like those alternative/indie rock bands. I have a Fender Mustang 1 amp and Fuse software... The Overdrive stomp box settings are Level, Gain, Mid, Low, and High.... I've been playing with the software all day, I can never seem to get the kind of sound I want out of the amp... I mostly play acoustic guitar and I find this guitar amp stuff to be so overwelming.

Locking Tuners on a 12 string guitar?

So I have been playing 6 string for awhile but now I want to try 12 string. I got a good deal on one but it needs new tuners. I heard 12 strings go out of tune really easily would it help to get locking tuners? Is it okay to put locking tuners on an acoustic because it is a 12 string acoustic. Locking tuners are mainly used on electrics right? Also is grover a good brand of locking tuners? I know I will have to spend $100 or on tuners because it is like $50 for 6 and I will need 2 sets of 6. Is there any way to get cheap locking tuners without sacrificing quality. Any suggestions appreciated.

Why do I sweat a lot?

Ok I sweat A LOT. WHen it's super hot out, i start sweating like crazy.. the entire back of my shirt gets drenched with sweat, but i'm not unhealthy. i take care of myself, and i'm in good shape I swim competitively from Mon to Sat every week, and now i started water polo and badminton. Water polo is 4 days a week and its hella intense. But when i do badminton or any running or any intense avtivity out of the water, i sweat a lot. during conditioning, I staart sweating like crazyyyy. Buckets of sweat going down my face, and back.. and blaahh blah. i eat whatever i can.. but i like to eat junk food. i dont eat really really salty foods. i also eat my fruits and veggies.. and i hav ish ish of a well balanced diet.......so how do i stop sweating buckets and start sweating like a normal person?

I had a massive fight with five boys.I was sat with my friends on the grass at breaktime when this group of boys (Who hate me espeshialy) started circling our circle,it was ok,then one of them sat down in the middle of the circle,we just ignored him.Then they started stealing our bags,and empting them across the feiuild.We chased them,got the bags back,and picked up the contence.Then they started stealing two at time,and chucked the bag to one of their friends when we were near them.They stole my P.E bag and emptied all of it's contence,they were so irritating me so I got my water bottle and squirted water it at them to make them stop,it worked.The tallest biggest boy,grabbed,but his arm round my neck,my neck clicked and it wasn't comfortable position as he was praticley feeling my up,trying to the water bottle out of hands.I then broke free,and drenched his face with water.I walked away.He followed me,and poured water on my backside.All of my friends tried to help me,but they couldn't manage tackiling the tall one because he is 6ft tall.The others they chased of ,but they broke my friends bag,and she had to carry everything in her hands (Books,pencile case,lunch,course work-everything.) Need help with percussion for band?

Hey guys, me and a couple of friends are writing and playing songs with a sort of indie acoustic sound, we need to add percussion to the mix, but we don't want to add a full kit, because 1 - it wouldn't compliment the sound and 2 - we don't have a drummer, or at least one that isn't already doing something else (me - lead guitar). I burn 300 calories, about 30 mins, almost everyday using my treadmill and I'm usually exhausted and completely drenched in sweat when I'm done. I just got a new stationary bike and it is SO much easier for me to burn calories with, I can burn 500 calories in about 40 mins and barely sweat. This just doesn't make sense to me. What happened to me? Got dizzy, hot, sweaty, lost eyesight and hearing got fuzzy?

I was at physicals put on by my school. I was in a tiny hallway packed with people and it was hot. All of the sudden I got REALLY hot and incredibly dizzy. I doubled over leaning against the wall with my hands of my knees to try to get feeling better. When I stood back up (still hot, sweaty and dizzy) I couldnt see anything besides black, so I bent back over. My eyesight came back a few seconds later but everything was shaking and foggy, my hearing became muffled. It slowly started getting better and when I went into the room where the physician checks your heart he asked me what was wrong. I was PALE! I was drenched in sweat and my paper was soggy from where I was holding it. My hands got tingly and joints got sore and my stomach hurt. I was reallly scared, and would like to know what happened to me. Im a 14 year old girl.. Please help!

Changing out guitar tuners.?

A buddy of mine asked me to fix his guitar. He had mentioned that he wanted the tuning heads changed out (idk why) but told me to put Grover modern nickel keystones on it. I though that would be easy and simple, but i had heard that most of Grovers tuners required a 10mm peghead hole for each tuner. Do you know how you would measure the peghead hole, Or could most Grovers fit perfectly without it?

Percy Jackson or Harry Potter, which do you prefer?

Percy Jackson has a lighter feel to it, it has funnier moments and it moves a lot quicker. Some of the untied knots in Harry Potter aren't revealed until book 7 and the overall plot line is a lot more serious. While reading the Percy Jackson books, I was aware of the fact that it was written for pre-teens since the language was very primary. Meanwhile, Harry Potter was a little more complex. Both series' are great in their own right; how can I choose which one I like better? That's like asking me which of my children is my favourite! =P

Help!!! Can modern music be played on the classical guitar?!?

Im asking this question again because he first time no one answered.... I'm almost 13 and I want to start playing guitar. Why does 16 week puppy pee in her crate?

So I've never noticed this until now, but her crate is always drenched in pee...This whole time I've been wasting my time wondering why she pees inside more than she does outside, when she even does it in her own crate. For example, today I took her out at 9pm and I put her back in her crate. About an hour later she pees inside it...She always drinks water right after she pees Idk why, but yea...I'm pretty sure she NEVER holds her pee in at night as her bed was filled with pee. I took her bed out and she still pees on the blanket. The crate is about 2 feet wide, and I only have her blanket and toys in there and I leave her in there for 4 hours max, and not all at once. Can someone tell me how to fix this because I don't want to wait until it's too late and she is 1 year old and still doesn't know where to pee and poop. Yes I found her on the road and she has been peeing everywhere for the past month and a half and my dumb sister has been using those retarded potty pads which just confuse them more, so how can I get her out of the habit of peeing everywhere? She should be holding her pee for about 2 hours, but she can't even hold it for one. I got Nature's miracle and cleaned up her pee with dish soap and put a new blanket and then sprayed the NM in her crate and she still peed inside it... :( Idk how I can potty train her if she pees where she sleeps oO Sometimes she even pees inside like 20 minutes after she pees outside. also I saw some white stuff coming out of her...you know wat a few times, but not anymore. Is it an infection? I've taken her to the vet but never had her urine or anything checked out, just de wormed.

The driver's side floorboard of my eclipse spyder is drenched. I noticed it a few months ago and figured the seals on the door were bad so I had someone spray the car down with a hose and didn't see any water coming in. Okay. First and foremost: it just isn't that easy. You don't get to just send your screenplay off to a production company and hope they call you back. It doesn't work like that. People work for years and years and even old, seasoned writing veterans don't just get to write movies. Secondly, even if you did somehow magically inspire awe throughout the halls and corridors of said production company, you've no relevant experience in directing movies. Remember, there are guys who spend thousands of dollars and go to prestigious academies for years to learn how to properly piece together cinema. And this process is exactly what I am going to recommend to you. If you want to make movies, go to school. Unless you think your mind can match that of a genius like Tarantino, you are not going to succeed or make the right connections without it. For now, you're much better off buying a cheap camera and a cheap program and practicing making home movies. But kid, right now you're a long way away from Hollywood.

Left my son who I think was 2 1/2 at the time alone (well not alone, but I wasn't really keeping a good eye on him) while I was folding laundry for about 5 minutes. Outfit ideas for sumertime for an "indie-ish" style?

Hey guys, so basically I love how I dress in winter. I wear a lot of layers and long jeans and Toms and such, and my style's pretty rad, from my perspective. But when it's summer, I'm lost. I live in a place where summer is ridiculously hot, so I can't keep up wearing jeans and tights and all of the things I love. I don't want to sound poser-ish, but in reality my style is a bit "indie-ish" and unique. Panic attack or something else?

I'm a 19 year old female and I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder type 2 about a year ago. Last night I went to sleep around 3 am, was half asleep for 3 hours tossing and turning. Felt like the bed was trying to swallow me and I woke up drenched in sweat and breathing hard. It took me over an hour to calm down because it was almost like I was hyperventilating. I just couldn't breathe. I'm just confused as to what happened. Was this a panic attack?

I know you have to come out of your pocket some to do it but I don't see a problem with that plus i've read some pretty good books that were self-published. But some people act like it's not a good way to go. Hello. i am a musician, with 10 years playing piano,guitar,sax. Im nearing my 20s, I've composed quite a number of songs, melodies, and i decided to record and send them to clubs/venues. each time i record, i loose the "spark" that gives the song passion, which leads to my obsession to over-perfect it, anyway, i sent a few of my songs to clubs here in west Florida a few months ago, and im getting the impression that maybe I suck, or its the wrong kind of clubs since i haven't gotten a response, sadly the big music scene here is dance/rap, no indie/folk pointed scene... Tips for Drawing in pencil?

Well I only looked at the first five or so, but for the most part they just look like basic contour drawings. Contour drawings really just have the basic shapes and parts, there isn't shading or color. The shading in those pictures is more just scribbly as opposed to smooth gradient shading. A tip for art like that is to just keep it fun and loose to get the "sketch" look.
